Villa Hikaru one of the original villas to be built in Treasure Beach has just been completely and lovingly renovated. Filled with charm and cool breezes the 6 bedroom, 5 bathroom (3 bathrooms offering outside showers) villa sits atop a hill overlooking the Caribbean Sea.
This u-shaped villa holds a large shaded verandah in the center of the house with 4 of the bedrooms exiting onto the verandah. One bedroom has a queen size bed and 3 bedrooms have options of two single beds or a king size bed.
Garfield Cottage, a separate cottage located just behind the main villa has been gorgeously restored into the perfect tiny house. It offers 2 bedrooms, one with two single beds which can be converted into a king size bed, and a second bedroom offering a single bunk bed and a small table with two chairs. There is a kitchenette, bathroom, a screened in porch for each bedroom and lovely deck. This is only rented with the main villa to assure your privacy during your stay. With the addition of Garfield Cottage Villa Hikaru now comfortably houses 12!
Venesia and Elesha will prepare delicious breakfasts and dinners each day allowing you more time for rest and relaxation.
Patrick makes sure the grounds, pool and newly renovated tennis court are all ready for your enjoyment.
A large gazebo sits right below the verandah offering lots of comfy space for relaxing. To the left of the gazebo follow the path to the shaded wooden deck furnished with additional dining table and built in cushioned wooden benches. This space is perfect for watching the sunset. The sea side thatched gazebo is another great spot for relaxing and counting the waves. The pool area has a queen bed, table and chairs and lots of sun beds allowing plenty of options for your relaxation pleasure.

Villa Hikaru is a dream. Tennis before breakfast, poolside naps, walks on the beach (and the beach sunsets!), plus delicious food cooked by Venesia. It’s all so wonderful that the vacation is never long enough! The house is wonderful, the beach is beautiful, and Patrick takes great care of the place.
We recently celebrated our matriarch's 80th birthday at Villa Hikaru. We had a lovely and meaningful experience together on this property that perfectly accommodated 5 adults and 4 children. From the seamless airport pick up, the incredible cooks and staff (Vanesia, Cedrina, and Patrick), to the sprawling mid century modern grounds with ample bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms, spacious areas to lounge, private pool and tennis court, and beach access that is perfect for small kids, we have nothing but positive things to say about our experience. We were particularly grateful to Vanesia and Cedrina who were incredibly attentive and accommodated our children's severe dairy allergy. We hope to make this an annual trip for our family!
Our return to the villa after five years felt like a homecoming. The extraordinary staff, especially the wonderful Vanessa with her magical touch in the kitchen, and the pure indulgence of outdoor showers surrounded by lush landscapes, create an intimate connection. Yet, what truly captivates us about Villa Hikaru and Treasure Beach is the genuine essence of Jamaica. This place goes beyond the standard all-inclusive resort experience. With humble yet luxurious amenities and captivating ocean views, each visit feels like rediscovering paradise.
From the pickup to the breakfast, to the dinner, deserts, pool, everyone was awesome at providing everything we needed. Food was exactly what we expected and privacy was par none as the beach front access is better than all other properties in the area.
Get on a boat and ride the cost you won’t regret it.
Villa Hikaru is an amazing property! The villa is beautiful – open air, thoughtfully decorated, and well-kept. Most of the living area is outdoors with a living room and 4 bedrooms opening to the main outdoor living space. Two of the bedrooms have doors that open directly outside to this space. The other two bedrooms have a small connecting space with one door that opens to the outside. Meals were served at the large table in the outdoor space and the lounge chairs here were perfect for relaxing with a view of the ocean. The breeze kept this area comfortable even during the hottest afternoons. (While the mosquitos weren’t terrible, there were a few around and we were glad to have bug spray.)
The staff was incredible. Vanesia and Elesha worked with us to set a Jamaican menu that our families would enjoy. The meals were excellent and really made the experience of staying at the Villa! We appreciated trying their specialties and enjoyed chatting with them about what they were making. We were truly spoiled by the food and service. Patrick does an excellent job of keeping up the property and assuring everything is in order. He shared his knowledge of the area and the plants on the property and helped the kids pick mangos and find coconuts to drink from.
There are several areas great for enjoying views of the ocean and the gardens on the property. The pool gets some shade throughout the day and the shaded lounge area by the pool is nice to have. We loved being able to play tennis on the oceanfront tennis court, though anyone going to play should be aware that there is a slope to the court and the surface is rough. It’s a great amenity that we had a lot of fun with but would not be a good fit for anyone who takes their game too seriously. The beach is quiet and the water crystal clear. The shallow area just outside of the villa’s gates is somewhat protected and provides a calm place for kids to swim.
Villa Hikaru is remote and far from the touristy areas. (The 2.5+ hour drive from Montego Bay is on rough, winding, and narrow roads.) This is absolutely part of the charm. This quiet fishing community is welcoming of visitors but it is not a community that was built for tourism. There are a very limited number of small shops, bars, and restaurants. We loved the fresh fish and lobster at Eggy’s, a very small spot on the beach. Everyone we met was friendly and welcoming. We could not have asked for a better experience or a more beautiful location!
We could not have been happier with our stay at Villa Hikaru! Everything was terrific. The home and property are even prettier than the pictures. The staff were very nice and professional. The food was really good. I highly recommend Villa Hikaru.
My family wanted a change of scenery (being stuck at home for the year), away from the crowds during the Pandemic. This Villa is on a very private beach with a large yard.
My husband and I loved the 50ft lap pool and walking on the beach. In front of the villa the beach is very shallow and good for small children, but a short walk down, you have a large area of water up to your neck, and is good for swimming.
In the evenings, we enjoyed lounging in the funky mid-century loggia. This makes for a perfect place to relax, read or just look at the ocean or take an outdoor nap. At nights, the boys enjoyed the garden deck, with large picnic table and benches and also a comfortable sofa . They played bocce at nights and tennis during the days. There were many other outdoor games, that we wished we had time to try.
Dinner time was special and we enjoyed the meals provided by Venesia and Elesha. The grounds were well kept by the resident gardener Patrick. I was so impressed with their eagerness to assist in any way possible. We cooked up a storm and finished the charcoal and needed more to make out grilled lobster. Rebecca went out of her way on a Sunday, to get us some even though we said we would do without.
Overall, we all had a lovely time, and will return soon.
Our stay at Villa Hikaru was an experience we enjoyed very much. From the Treasure Island Driver meeting us at the Airport, to the welcoming committee of Rebecca, Vanessa, Elisha and Patrick. It was a very warm and friendly welcome as we were all tired, 10 of us, from our flight being 2 hours delayed leaving Philadelphia.
Vanessa and Elisha had dinner waiting for us when we arrived, and it was delicious. Every meal was authentic Jamaican style and full of flavor. Just tell the ladies what meats you want and let them do the rest; you will enjoy it. We ventured out to the closest local Restaurant, 77 West, and it was actually a great option for lunch. Groceries are very expensive and outside of chicken, most meats were not readily available. It would be best to know what types of meat you would like well in advance of your arrival, thereby allowing the staff ample time to buy the items. Best bet - order as much of your foods and drinks you think you will want prior to your arrival.
We found the rooms and the showers exactly how we imagined them, beautiful. Our only suggestion would be to invest in some mattress crates to provide a little more comfort. I found the mattress to be too “firm” for my liking (almost to the point of discomfort).
The AC units were in good working conditions. Didn’t need them often but on some nights it did help us cool down a bit.
We found the pool to be in excellent condition, well maintained and very refreshing all throughout the day. No need to take your water floats or pool toys; they have a chest full of just about anything you might want in the pool. Access to the beach was a great amenity; the only drawback was the public access to the beach was right alongside the property, so you will see and hear people as they are accessing the beach.
The Villa is fully equipped with many amenities except there was not a TV in the Cottage. There is only one TV in the Villa, which was in the main room and that was great because we went there to unplug, unwind and enjoy quality family time; however, being that it is a separate space, a TV in the cottage would be nice.
Take plenty of bug spray; mosquitoes are treacherous there, especially during dusk.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we would definitely recommend Villa Hikaru as a place to stay.
First, let’s talk about the staff. The cooks preparing your breakfast and dinner can out cook any of the restaurants we visited. Everything was so fresh whether it was from the ocean or the tropical trees. The fresh fish and shellfish were only hours from the ocean and AMAZING! Each day the pool is cleaned early in the morning, all the sidewalks and steps are swept, your beds are made and turn down at night. Yes, they spoil you. The staff couldn’t be nicer and I recommend spending some time visiting with them.
The photos of this ocean villa do not do it justice. Perfect location for a group of friends or family vacationing together. The common area is a spacious living room with French doors overlooking the even larger veranda that is steps from the ocean. The bedrooms, off the veranda, are spacious, beautifully decorated, and each have an outdoor shower off of its private bathroom. If all this wasn’t enough, there were private areas scattered throughout the estate to enjoy a book or grab some me time.
The beach is quite private as we only saw some local kids snorkeling in the reef and occasionally playing soccer. There is a mix of sandy beach and reef so there is plenty to keep you entertained. The few times that the ocean was too rough to swim we used the lap pool. A short distance away there are some small local dining spots that are worth visiting. The booking agent for this villa also arranged a boat tour of the Black River and a car to take us to local scenic points.
This place is an incredible value as we have never had a more beautiful place to stay or better food and yet paid less then we have on previous vacations.
This February friends and I stayed at the Villa Hikaru for the second year in a row. From booking to transportation to excursions and tips on fun places to go Treasure Tours makes sure you relax and have fun. The Treasure Beach community and Treasure Tours staff welcome you like friends and family coming home for a visit. Everyone has a smile and a hug if you've met them before. The staff makes sure you are fully stocked and fix you amazing meals! The drivers know all the best places to stop and shop, eat or have a cold Red Stripe. This place is truly a paradise not all caught up in the commercialism. If you want to go have a great vacation with a bunch of friends or family or even just a quiet getaway for two this is the place to consider. Contact Treasure Tours and they will set you up with the best place to suit your group. The villas are all beautifully maintained with views you dream about. Thank you Rebecca and team for another amazing vacation!! Treasure Beach is truly my most favorite place to visit!
