I did about as much research as a human could about where I was going to take my family on our next vacation. I had found this house when searching for villas to rent in the Caribbean. I have never been to Jamaica but many other islands. This house was the reason for us to take us to a whole new country.



When we travel we like to avoid crowds and are never interested in staying in the tourist areas. Upon learning more about Treasure Beach it just seemed exactly where we wanted to be. Really the only concern we had was would our two boys 8 and 6 be fulfilled with a relaxing atmosphere vs one where there may be more to do and more kids around. Well they did great!



How could they not when you have your own pool, basically a private beach and even a nice TV to watch when Mom and Dad needed a break from them.



The house was amazing and so comfortable. The setup is perfect with the way the doors all open up to your amazing patio that sits right in front of your very own pool that looks out over the blue ocean. The bedrooms where so comfortable with AC and the rest of the house stays nice and comfortable with ceiling fans and the ocean breezes.



But as many have said before what really pushes this place over the top as far as vacation spot has to be the amazing staff. From McCarl the amazing caretaker who can provide and take care of all our house and area needs. He even climbed a tree to grab cocconuts for my oldest son. Miss Audrey was such a special treat to have cooking your meals for you. The most amazing fresh local dishes day and night. It was so nice to have those meals prepared for you while you eat on our outdoor dininng table as the waves crash on the beach. Just let Audrey cook and you will not be diappointed. The best restaurant in Treasuer Beach is Shakti Home. Then Nivia the house keeper would be there everyday to be sure beds where made and bathrooms were cleaned. The floors where always swept and the house was in top shape.



Then last but not least you have Max the dog. What an awesome friend to have for the week. The boys just loved her. She went with us everytime we walked the beach and always had the boys in her sights.



I honestly can't say enough good things about this experience.



The ride from the airport is a bit long but so worth the wait. Just be prepared for that part.

There is nowhere quite like Treasure Beach. We have stayed at Shakti many times and have come to love not only the home and the location, but the incredible staff. Audrey is the best chef in the area and McCarl is always available to help. We would be remiss not to mention sweet Maxine, the villa dog, who makes our stay even more loving. Specifically, Shakti offers the best shaded lounge area on Old Wharf and the closest pool-to-beach proximity. Also the floor layout is fantastic wtih a large kitchen in the back of the house. Shakti, and all of Treasure Beach, is a true salve to the spirit.

Shakti Home has World Class service and a 10/10 location. Amazing staff who were all friendly and helpful. The breakfasts and dinners were on par, if not better than any dishes I’ve had elsewhere in the area. The addition of Maxine was a huge plus, as my family had lost our family dog suddenly just days before arriving. Thank you Sharon for the incredible memories and for hosting us at your home.

I say: never go on vacation with any expectations.

So what did we find when we arrived at Shakti home in Treasure Beach?

Warm air. Warm water. Warm people, a home filled with love, games for the family, wafting breezes and fragrances from the sea and from the kitchen where Audrey prepared, at our request, Jamaican delights for dinner and breakfast – jerk chicken and lobster, plantains, lots of salads, ackee and saltfish, and Festival (yummy sweet dumplings), and plates of fresh pineapple, papaya, and bananas, and any question or need about the area or the house was answered or taken care of by the ever-calm McCarl.

Did I mention a daily rhythm of counting hermit crabs in the tidal pools, swimming in the cove each morning, and waving at neighbors strolling past on the beach while we watched the day rise with morning coffee in hand or while we enjoyed the sunset and floated in the infinity pool; or the amazing walking tour around Treasure Beach’s hamlets and shaded lanes with our knowledgeable local guide Reds, or the beach-lunch excursion by boat with Captain Dennis and his warm and wonderful crew where we ate a delicious meal cooked over open fires in a secluded cove beside a mangrove forest; and, last but not least, my family calm at the end of our week at Shakti Home, who, when asked, is there anything that you would want to be different about our trip, replied: nothing, it was perfect.

These pictures do not do this home justice at all! Our family vacation for Thanksgiving week was absolutely amazing in every way. The home was perfect so relaxing, the food prepared for us was delicious all the authentic Jamaican food was hands down the best made by Aubrey & Carl the cartaker of the home helped us with every request we had they were all so kind and very helpful. We asked Carl if he knew anyone that would be able to come sing at the house and he was able to get his (3) friends that happen to be brothers that play guitar & sing & let me tell you we truly enjoyed all the songs they played & there stories. I already booked our stay for next year November 2024 & we can't wait this is a piece of heaven for sure.

Magical, that’s how I described my stay to the first person who asked upon my return. It surprised me when I said it, not a description I often use. Shakti’s hosts welcome upon arrival was warm and included a home cooked meal wafting from the kitchen. Come here to relax and envelope yourself in the Jamaican southern coast’s warm vibe and chill atmosphere, the beach feels private and we always felt safe. Shakti’s team make you feel at home with a very soft and non-intrusive feeling.

Property is EXACTLY as pictured, the staff Audrey&McCall are the best. They are attentive to your needs and the meals that Audrey prepares is awesome.

Photos and pictures sum it up. We were looking for a nice and private location off the beaten path and this delivered. It's a long car ride from either airport but as long as you're aware of that and that you know you're not going to be having wild night life this is the perfect spot for us!
