Hurricane Melissa may have ripped up the landscape and destroyed homes and businesses, but Melissa did not take away the heart & soul of the Treasure Beach community so this vacation for us was really no different than any of our previous trips dating back to 2003. This is meant as a sincere compliment to each and every person who worked non stop to get the community up and running so they could welcome back guests to enjoy all the wonderful things Treasure Beach has to offer. And I say “guest” rather than “tourist”, because that is how you are treated here in Treasure Beach- like an invited guest who turns into a friend and they hope you will come back. To me a “tourist” is someone who is just passing thru. So if you have not been to Treasure Beach before, know that if you come with an open heart you will leave with new friends and probably wanting to return sooner rather than later.

Our first week in Treasure Beach was spent at Doubloon with another couple where Hio & Nadine took great care of us, feeding us one yummy meal after the next. Robert is on the way to getting the gardens & yard blooming again. We even noticed new growth in just the one week we were there!!!

If you have stayed at Doubloon before it is as lovely and comfortable as ever. As always, Judy makes sure everything is in tip top shape. Staff aside, what we love most about the villa are all the great places to stretch out to read a book, catch a nap, or just stare out at the sea. Hurricane Melissa has changed the beach/coast line so the view is a little different, but it’s still fun to watch the fishermen come in & go out and of course the sunsets are not to be missed.

If you have not stayed at Doubloon before and can’t make up your mind which villa is just right for you, these are things you might want to consider:

1. Doubloon has great staff!!! Hio, Nadine, and Robert are the best of the best! You won’t have to shop, cook, clean, make beds, do yard work, shovel snow, or change a light bulb!

2. Location!!! On the beach, walking distance to shops, bars, & restaurants

3. All 4 bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning

4. Pool! As much as we love swimming in the sea, a pool is a nice place to float & stay cool

5. Multiple areas for a group to hang out, whether you want sun or shade or out of the rain

Book your next stay at Doubloon, I don’t think you will be disappointed!

We live in Jamaica and have spent many great stays in Treasure Beach over the years with our sons and their friends, other friends and family, particularly at Doubloon. Since being empty-nesters, we have been staying at smaller places. However, to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary we gathered all our kids and their significant others together from all over the world for a week at Doubloon a few weeks after Hurricane Melissa in mid December. We were a bit apprehensive but it was lovely - great staff and it was just a wonderful trip down memory lane. It is simply the best place to unwind from the hurly burly of everyday life. We stayed at doubloon villa January 8th thru the 14th and I can't say enough about how wonderful it was. It was the first time I have ever brought anyone with us to experience treasure Beach. I have been coming for many years now and have stayed in many wonderful villas but I have to say this one was the best! You can feel the love and dedication that the staff have for this home and the amazing amount of work that has been put into the home since the hurricane. The home was inviting and immaculate with lots of spots for private moments. Hoi, Nadeen and Robert were fabulous! They took care of us and the house so wonderfully that my cousin's that came with me want to come back next year. They left us wanting for absolutely nothing except to stay longer. Robert even helped me by lending me his glue gun and to make earrings out of shells! My hats off to all of them and I look forward to seeing them next year as we will definitely be back! The location was perfect and we could walk to everything! It's my new favorite villa in treasure Beach!

My wife and I have been blessed to stay in many beachy locations and this spot is now #1 on our list. It is quiet, it is clean, it had everything we needed to get off the grid. If you look at this and note the travel time from the major airports, don't be discouraged, just extend your stay to make that transit time worth it. Even after the extreme devastation of hurricane Melissa, our hosts were able to ensure we had all the necessities and delicious food we could eat. One word of caution: if you are someone that delights in having dozens of entertainment options and dining choices, this place might not be for you. There are a few solid options close by but the beauty of this location (to us at least) was the fact that the hustle and bustle was NOT there. Even our teenage kids didn't get bored of the slowed down schedule! We can't wait to return.

My family just completed our 3-night stay at the lovely Doubloon Villa, and what an amazing time we had! We've stayed at a few other Villas in Treasure Beach and have to say Doubloon was up there with the very best of them!! The house was cozy and perfectly arranged. The proximity to the beach can't be beat. We spent a lot of time just sitting on the deck enjoying the view. We saw shooting stars every single night which was unbelievable. The staff was fantastic, and we enjoyed everything they served. We even asked them for a few recipes here and there (which they happily shared!) so we could try to duplicate them back home. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer - we will definitely be back again soon!

I don't think it could get better than this. A tranquil comfortable place on one of the nicest beaches in the area.

This place is wonderful! From the staff Hio, Nadine & Robert to the staff at Treasure Tours everyone was fabulous and helped to make this a fabulous vacation. Would highly recommend a stay her to anyone! The villa is beautiful and the location to the beach wow!!

Highly recommend a stay at Doubloon Villa! We felt spoiled, relaxed, and had a wonderful family vacation. The home and property is incredibly spacious and comfortable, a perfect location right on the beach, Haio, Nadine, Robert and Rebecca were welcoming, kind and incredible cooks. We felt safe and loved exploring Treasure Beach. It's a hidden gem worth visiting! Thank you for showing us the beauty and the friendly hospitality of Treasure Beach.
